Substance Abuse Treatment

Bauer Counseling offers specialized treatment for individuals and family members dealing with the effects of substance abuse. A broad spectrum of services are offered to address the following needs: active use, occasional abuse, maintenance, coping with triggers and support for family members of substance abusers. Group and individualized treatment in addition to substance abuse assessments are available.

We are currently accepting referrals for drug and alcohol assessments and treatment.  Group treatment is 6.0 hours per week for 12 weeks with a 12 week aftercare component of 1 - 2 hours per week. Daytime or evening time group options are available. A multi-family component is part of this program, which meets monthly.  This program is an important program designed to help individuals understand addiction, be able to deal with negative triggers and cravings, and learn to develop a Recovery Based Abstinent Lifestyle. Monitored attendance in community support groups and random drug screens are also part of this program. Family Dynamics group covers basic Co-Dependency issues, family systems structures & dysfunctional family roles, breaking the cycles of Addiction & Domestic Violence/Abuse in family relationships, Healthy communication skills, "Forgiveness/Letting Go" principles for healthy family relationships, and the basics of  Al-Anon Family Groups 12 step and 12 Traditions as they apply to families. This group is 9 weeks in duration or is available through individual therapy sessions covering the curriculum.
